The Space Between: Liminal Squire Hex

A great collaboration is a perfectly balanced Venn diagram: clear overlap, but not so much that both parties become redundant—and not so little that there’s barely anything to connect.

Ali Abdaal and his mission hit that sweet spot.

A Change of Habit

The pandemic pushed all of us to find new habits to stay sane. For me, that habit was YouTube. Before 2020, I barely used it—unless I was trying to learn something and Google dropped a perfect video in my lap.

Then, seemingly overnight, we were all stuck inside.

Not long after I started browsing regularly, I stumbled onto one of Ali’s videos—and I was immediately drawn in. Ali’s work is warm and bright. He shows up with a welcoming smile, introduces a new idea, and quietly nudges you toward a better, happier life. He does it by teaching what he’s learned from building a career and a business: how to be more effective in the way we work, think, and live.

His emphasis on productivity was a natural complement to our emphasis on creativity.

An Overlap of Like Minds

I’ve been obsessed with creativity since I was in first grade, when I stuck a sticky note on my forehead to get the teacher’s attention (I had to go to the bathroom) and realized that non-conformative solutions could make waves. Since then, I’ve built my entire life around the desire to be creative every day.
This includes building Baronfig.

But there’s a key ingredient of creativity that often gets overlooked: productivity.
Society often separate categorizes creatives and “non-creatives”; those that have ideas and those that bring those ideas to life. But I’ve found that the most effective people (in any field) are creative *and* productive. They not only have the ideas—they follow through.

Naturally, working with Ali Abdaal—someone who champions productivity as much as I champion creativity (and has clearly mastered both sides of that equation)—is a collaboration that I couldn’t pass up.

So I sent an email. And, two years later, here we are.

Introducing Liminal

We often rush from one thing to the next. But the most powerful place is neither here nor there—it’s in the pause. Because within that pause lies the journey. The transformation.

Liminal Squire Hex is based on the idea of liminal space—a transitional place in which you’re not quite where you were, and not yet where you’re going. It’s the bridge where thoughts connect, shift, and finally snap into clarity.

Liminal features a white Cerakote finish with triad engraving. “Diverge,” “Converge,” and “Emerge” are positioned on three alternating faces to remind us of the power and process of traveling through liminal space. They’re a reminder that every idea, every experience, is comprised of separate elements that come together, mix in novel ways, and form something new on the other side.

Liminal is crafted for the space between ideas—between distraction and deep work, between who you are and who you are becoming.

We hope you enjoy.
